Plain answers

What an advance costs, how long it takes, how we are paid and what we do with your information.

About us and how we're paid

Are you a direct lender?

No. We're a funding broker. Our funding partners decide whether to fund you, set the terms and send the money. We qualify your business, gather a complete file, take it to suitable funding partners and explain the cost in dollars.

How are you paid?

Funding partners pay us a commission when a deal funds. You pay us no broker fee. The funding itself has a cost, and we show it in dollars before you decide. The commission does not change what we tell you about that cost.

Why use a broker?

Funding partners differ on what they look for, how fast they move and what they charge. We take your file to the ones that suit it, so you do not fill in several applications. We explain each offer in dollars, and we say so when an advance is not the right fit.

Do you work with more than one funding partner?

We work with several funding partners and take your file to the ones that suit it. Not every application gets an offer, and not every application gets more than one.

Cost

What does an advance cost?

You repay a fixed total, called the total payback: the advance multiplied by a factor rate, usually between 1.25 and 1.60. For example, $50,000 at 1.30 means a total payback of $65,000 and a cost of funds of $15,000, about $344 a business day over 9 months. Fees can reduce the amount deposited, so we show the net deposit too. Illustrative only: real offers vary by funding partner.

Is a factor rate the same as an interest rate?

No. A factor rate is a one-time multiplier on the amount advanced, not a yearly rate. Your total payback is fixed when you sign, so we compare offers in dollars: what you repay, and how quickly.

Are there other fees?

Some funding partners charge an origination fee, which is their charge for setting up the advance. It varies by funding partner and is usually taken out of the advance, so $50,000 approved does not always mean $50,000 deposited. We add it to the cost of funds so you see the all-in cost in dollars, and we show the net deposit next to the total payback.

Can I pay it off early to save money?

Only if your agreement allows it. Total payback is fixed at signing, so paying early helps only when the agreement has an early-payoff discount. Check before you sign, and we can ask the funding partner for you.

What if the bank is a better fit?

If the bank can fund you in time, it will usually cost less. We'll tell you. An advance makes the most sense when you need funding sooner than a bank can offer, or a bank is not an option for your business.

Eligibility and applying

Who is a typical fit?

A typical fit has been in business 6 months or more, takes about $10,000 or more in monthly sales, has regular deposits and has a clear use for the funds. That is typical, not universal. Each funding partner sets its own criteria.

Will funding be guaranteed?

No. Approval is never guaranteed. A funding partner makes the final decision, and not every application gets an offer.

Will this affect my credit?

Answering our questions does not involve a credit check. Funding partners may check credit as part of their review, and they will tell you how. Credit is one factor among several, alongside deposits and time in business.

What information do I need?

To start, a few details about your business: how long you've traded, your monthly sales and what the funds are for. Later, a funding partner will usually ask for recent business bank statements, photo ID and a list of any advances you already pay. We tell you what is needed and how to send it.

Why don't you want my bank statements by email?

Bank statements are sensitive financial information, and email is not a safe way to send them. We tell you the secure way to send documents before we ask for any. Please do not email them or put them in a web form.

What if I don't meet the typical criteria?

You can still ask us for general guidance. If an advance is unlikely to fit, we'll say so and point to other routes, such as a bank, or building more trading history first.

Timing

When might funding arrive?

Funding often arrives 24 to 72 hours after a complete file, depending on the funding partner. It is never guaranteed. Missing bank statements are the most common cause of delay, so have them ready.

How long does the first conversation take?

It is a short conversation. We confirm your details, ask about your sales and any advances you already pay, and explain what an advance would likely cost in dollars. You can stop at any point.

Existing advances

How do existing advances affect my options?

We look at what you already pay before anything else. Funding partners count existing advances when they review a file, and some will not fund a business that is already stretched. What you can take on depends on how large your current payments are against your sales.

Will you help me take a second advance?

Only if it makes sense for your cash flow, and we look at what you already pay first. Another payment from the same sales can strain cash flow, costs compound, and some agreements forbid a second advance and treat it as a breach. We won't push one.

Payments

How are payments taken?

There are two common ways. With a holdback, a share of your daily card sales goes to the funding partner. With a fixed payment, the same amount is debited from your bank account each business day or each week. Your offer shows which one applies.

What if my sales drop?

With a holdback, payments fall when your sales fall. Fixed payments do not, so a slow week can strain your cash flow. If sales drop, talk to your funding partner early.

Is there a personal guarantee?

Often, yes. A personal guarantee makes you personally responsible for the amount owed, not only the business. Read it carefully before you sign, and ask us or a lawyer about anything unclear.

Your information

Who sees my information?

We do, along with the funding partners we send your file to, with your permission, and the service providers that help us run the site and keep our records. We don't sell your information. See the privacy policy for the detail.
